Deuteronomy 26:11 KJV
And thou shalt rejoice in every good thing which the LORD thy God hath given unto thee, and unto thine house, thou, and the Levite, and the stranger that is among you.
Verses 1-11 should be taken together but for sake of space I have not included all these verses. When the Jews had gathered their harvest
They were to present a basket of the harvest before the priest,
They were to remember and repeat how God had led them out of Egypt into this good land and
They were to rejoice in every good thing the Lord had given them
This is a great way to think of tithing and the reason why we may bring those tithes to the Lord cheerfully; such tithing not only reminds us of the goodness of God in our lives today but also reminds us of what God has brought us through and where we would be without Him.
