Love

1 Thessalonians 3:12-13 KJV
And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you:
To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.

The importance of our love; first for the brethren and then for all men, cannot be overestimated. We begin (in the Christian walk) by learning to love the Lord. we progress, and I do not say it happens secondarily, but simultaneously in loving the brethren. Love of God and our neighbor: these are the greatest commandments. But the love of neighbor must not stop at the church doors. Christians are commanded to love all men and to even increase in that love.

Now for the results of that sort of love; The word of God says such love will, "....stablish [our] hearts unblameable in holines before God...."

We cannot love enough. We must not allow ourselves to become passive in our love but to be proactive in building and increasing and strengthening our ability to love.

May God grant it to be so.
