A Mind To Work

Nehemiah 4:6 KJV
So built we the wall; and all the wall was joined together unto the half thereof: for the people had a mind to work.

Israel built the wall under Nehemiah's leadership despite the many obstacle in part because,

They had a mind to work.
With only a few exceptions (those nobles who put not their necks to the work) Israel accepted their task and got to work.

They worked together.
Every family took a place and did what they could.

They had a fighting spirit.
Not that they were ready to pick a fight, but they were ready to finish one if it started. God's work has enemies. Being prepared to defend the work is a part of that mind to work.

I heard the Green Bay Packer's coach, before playing in the division championship game this weekend against Chicago, say that their team had been practicing hard and studying hard and they would have to go into the game and keep working to find a way to win. That is a mind to work.

If every believer will take the attitude that we are going to have learn to the things of God and work for Him and not get discouraged, but keeping looking to find a way to win souls, then we may, with God's help end our lives saying we did what God asked us to do.
