Isaiah 1:3 KJV
The ox knoweth his owner, and the ass his master's crib: but Israel doth not know, my people doth not consider.
Who says people are smarter than the animals?
• The ants band together with no ruler to provide their food in the summer
• The spider puts her hand to work and lives in palaces
• The birds know better than to worry
• The ox knows his owner
• The ass knows where his master feeds him
But Israel neither knew God's sovereignty over them nor considered His care of them.
And Israel, in this case, merely becomes a type of all people. How much better off we would be if we stopped trying to work out our own life and trusted the Lord day by day.
