2 Corinthians 11:2 KJV
For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy:
for I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste
virgin to Christ.

Husband
- In a day when marriage is very nearly a thing
of the past and alternative lifestyles are the norm
- In a day when divorce and remarriage is
very nearly as common, if not more so than the ideal of one man and one
woman for a lifetime
- In a day when the moral standards of
marriage are considered irrelevant even in the highest offices of our government
and in our churches
In a day
such as ours, Paul's fervency in this text may be lost.
This is
no small matter to him. He is speaking of those who have trusted Christ as
Saviour and His point is that this relationship is to be monogamous. We are to
be
- Loyal
- Faithful
- Devoted
Our faith
in Christ is one of
- Fealty and
- Fidelity
Paul's
point is that he has espoused us to one and just one husband. He is Christ or
He is not but He must not be one of the numbers of our attractions.
