The Place Where No Preacher Is

Titus 1:5 KJV
For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee:

They say that the Island of Crete had more than one hundred cities at the time of this writing. I do not see Paul assigning the "bishopric" of the island to Titus, as if he were to superintend over the churches already established there. I view this as the ministry of church planting. Any city without a preacher needed one. The Apostle's assignment to Titus was to work so that every city on the island had a gospel preacher.
  • We can't call men to be preachers
  • We can't force preachers to go where we say
But we can lead men to be aware of the needs so that God may use that knowledge to burden them for the place where no preacher is.
