You'll Eat Those Words

Proverbs 18:21 KJV
Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

I counsel people that it is “better to remain quiet and let people think you a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.” But I always feet a bit hypocritical by that since I make my living primarily by my words.

Matter of fact the greatest of men in history have made their livings at least to a large extent, by their words:
  • Alexander the Great led in battle but inspired by his speech
  • King David was as powerful with his pen as with his kingdom

  • Political leaders
  • Philosophers
  • Coaches and mentors
  • Educators
All make their livings, at least to the greatest extent, by their words

Jesus Christ, the greatest influence in the world, is also named the Word of God.

It is no shame to love speaking. It only falls upon the speaker to remember that whether his words are used for good purposes or for evil, he will eat the fruit of them.

Make sure the fruit your words produce is something you will want to eat.
