Too Little of John the Baptist

Luke 20:5 KJV

And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say, Why then believed ye him not?

The Pharisees knew the question Jesus would have asked; "Why didn't you believe John the Baptist?" They didn't want the question asked of them but it would be wise for us to ask the question for ourselves.

John the Baptist held a position of very high regard in the gospel era.

·       Every one of the Apostles, indeed, Jesus Himself had been baptized by him

·       His preaching was the fundamental message of Jesus Christ

·       Jesus said there had been born of women no greater than he and

He was a pivotal question in this and several other conversations the Lord had in His ministry

Today's Christianity makes much too little of John the Baptist and I believe it is a key reason today's Christianity is drifting from the truth.
