A Clear Change from the God Who Does Not Change

Leviticus 11:44-45 KJV
For I am the LORD your God: ye shall therefore sanctify yourselves, and ye shall be holy; for I am holy: neither shall ye defile yourselves with any manner of creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
For I am the LORD that bringeth you up out of the land of Egypt, to be your God: ye shall therefore be holy, for I am holy.

Acts 10:15
And the voice spake unto him again the second time, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

1 Timothy 4:4-5
For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:
For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

The Old Testament command was that certain animals were unclean to the Jews and were not to be eaten. Modern students have attempted to give some reason besides the plain command of God. Surely, they would suggest, God had a good excuse for withholding these meats from them! Truth is that no reason is given except a holy God commanded it.

In the New Testament God clearly reversed and annulled this command. The only clear reason to obey the Old Testament was that God said it and the only clear reason to believe God reversed the command in the New Testament is that God said it.

The sovereignty of God is what is at play in both Testaments. That is why our holiness rests in obedience. We do not need to know why, we only need to accept His will and Word as
·       holy
·       inerrant and

·       for our profit.
