Revelation 6:1 (KJV) Heaven and Earth

Revelation 6:1 (KJV)
And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.
There are seven seals on the book. Six of them are opened in this chapter. The first four are unique in that:
  • There is a beast to open them
  • There is a horse and rider within them
  • There is an invitation to “come and see”.
Albert Barnes says that the transition from the fourth to the fifth is from earth to heaven; from the seen to the unseen.
There is, among those of us of faith, a strong assurance of both worlds:
  • This temporal, corruptible yet visible world.
  • An eternal, incorruptible and as far as things are now invisible world.
It is by making sound and scriptural observations of this world we can see that we learn lessons concerning that world we cannot. God, who dwells in the invisible world, is sovereign over this visible one. We know that what He says about eternity is true because we can see that what He has said about the earthly ages is true.
