1 Timothy 6:3-5 (KJV) I Believe the Bible

1 Timothy 6:3-5 (KJV)
If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness; He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.
To listen to the:
  • Armchair philosophers,
  • Evolutionary scientists, and
  • World historians
one would get the idea that all that is academic and educated resides on the side of the atheist or at least the agnostics. Certainly, the very fact that one is a Christian proves, in their mind, a lack of rational thought.
This view is in error as there are hundreds of academics in the fields of philosophy, science and history, both past and present, who are and were also fervent Christians.
As a Christian I rest on the one irrefutable document, the Bible. This book turns the whole argument upside down and insists that those who teach contrary to it; and who reject it, who are the ones lacking.
  • They are proud
  • They know nothing
  • They are perverse
  • Their minds are corrupt
  • They are destitute of the truth
I believe the Bible and not an obviously flawed system of human academics.
