Revelation 13:1 (KJV) Blasphemy

Revelation 13:1 (KJV)
And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
Blasphemy.
The word means “vilification” and is directed especially against God. Over the centuries it has been used to describe all manner of actions, many unjustly and often against those who honestly attempted to glorify God.
Naboth was executed at the mere accusation (and that false) that he had blasphemed.
There is a blasphemy of the Holy Ghost whereby one, I believe, rejects the conviction of sin and of the Saviour, and is therefore lost.
But this beast wears the name of blasphemy. Exactly what that name is we are not told.
Pulpit Commentary writes,
” It is a “name of blasphemy;” that is, the worldly power, typified by this beast, denies the Divinity and might of the true God, and exalts itself above him.”
The nature of blasphemy is to deny the power of the true God. It is especially practiced among the leaders of the world.
