Genesis 42:21-22 (KJV) The Power of the Guilty Conscience

Genesis 42:21-22 (KJV)
And they said one to another, We are verily guilty concerning our brother, in that we saw the anguish of his soul, when he besought us, and we would not hear; therefore is this distress come upon us.And Reuben answered them, saying, Spake I not unto you, saying, Do not sin against the child; and ye would not hear? therefore, behold, also his blood is required.
There is incredible power in the guilty conscience. Two decades after the fact the brothers still attribute this trial to their treachery against Joseph. Reuben still blames his brothers for rejecting his advise about Joseph.
Twenty years later and they are still not over their sin!It has eaten away at them. It has torn them apart if not literally then internally. Joseph has moved on with his life. They have not.
No sin is gotten passed until it is confessed.Only then can the realization happen that Jesus has forgiven and cleansed us.
