Psalms 30:7-9 (KJV) We Fight For Life

Psalms 30:7-9 (KJV)
LORD, by thy favour thou hast made my mountain to stand strong: thou didst hide thy face, and I was troubled.I cried to thee, O LORD; and unto the LORD I made supplication. What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth?
It is appointed unto man once to die. We will, barring Christ’s calling away of the saints at the time of the rapture, face death for ourselves. The Psalmist is not arguing against it. Nor is he denying he would face it.
This is a time in his life when his “mountain is strong.” His life is vital and his purpose is clear. At such a time, even if there are threats, a person may have confidence that to be present in this world is of value:
  • To God
  • To others
  • To ourselves
When our time of death comes God gives grace. Until then we fight for life.
