Ezekiel 28:25 No Match for God

Ezekiel 28:25
Thus saith the Lord GOD; When I shall have gathered the house of Israel from the people among whom they are scattered, and shall be sanctified in them in the sight of the heathen, then shall they dwell in their land that I have given to my servant Jacob.

There is great encouragement in these words for the one who meditates upon them. The chapter begins with an address to the prince of Tyrus, one of those outlying nations surrounding the Promised Land. Though the leaders of Judah had been carried away God still had His hand on that Promised Land of the Jews.

The chapter progresses from there to speak of the King of Tyrus whose description proves he is none other than Satan. All of the kingdoms of that region were, at this time, under the dominion of Babylon. The ruler in Tyre would be much more a prince that a king as he was subject to Babylon. But Satan, as the King of Tyrus, was over the prince.

From here the chapter reminds the Jews of their scattered posture. Ezekiel, as well as all of the leading and skilled men of Jerusalem, were removed from their land. A depressing thought to say the least. But God very quickly assures them that:
·       They will be once again gathered into "their land"
·       They would be sanctified in the sight of the heathen
·       They would dwell safely in their promised homeland and
That God would be the One who makes it so.

The world is no match for God. The devil is no match for God and neither is any current negative circumstance we might be in. God is on His throne. His plan is working. He will gather His people, sanctify His people and keep His people.
