Hatred for the Faith

Acts 24:18 KJV
Whereupon certain Jews from Asia found me purified in the temple, neither with multitude, nor with tumult.

The Jews:
·       Accusations against Paul were false
·       Accusers were not present
·       Prosecutors were working with assumptions and not proof

The hatred these Jews had for faith in Christ had carried them far away from any sort of truth and justice. They had no means of proving their accusations but needed none. They knew how to manipulate the Roman system for their own means. Rome's only real objective in Israel was submission. If, by the mistreatment of one that submission could be maintained, then that one would ultimately be mistreated. Rome's handling of Christ had proven that. They would make a show of justice but in then end justice would be set aside for peace.
