Exodus 34:11 (KJV)
Observe thou that which I command thee this day: behold, I drive out before thee the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite.
It is no wonder the world, and especially those of the Middle East, hates Israel. The deepest truth is this battle is not between the people of the world and the Jews, but between the god of this world and the Almighty.
· God gave Israel that land.
· God drove out the others for Israel.
It is not the Jew the world is angry with; it is God.
It is not merely the world that is angry; it is the god of this world.
This is not a battle of ethnicity, history, philosophy, or religion. The god of this world has declared war on the Almighty God, and people are the pawns, the players. The souls of men and women are at stake. Whether men are aware of it, or even if they deny or ignore it, to support Israel is to fight on God’s side. (This is not to say that supporting Israel is equivalent to salvation. As in the case of Nebuchadnezzar, God uses men who have no knowledge of Him for the good of His people, Israel.) To resist Israel is to fight on the side of the god of this world. (Ultimately, even Satan is useful to God for the outcome of His final plan.)
The student of the Word of God is afforded glimpses into the sphere of the invisible, supernatural, and eternal struggle. The people of this world all play their part and will all face the consequences and/or rewards of this struggle. But only those who view this world through the lens of God’s Word have insight into the day-to-day details of this battle.
