Matthew 28:11 KJV
Now when they were going, behold, some of the
watch came into the city, and shewed unto the chief priests all the things that
were done.
No sooner had
the women left to tell the disciples that Jesus has risen than those at the
tomb left to tell the Pharisees that Jesus was gone.
The devil had
his witnesses as soon as the Lord had His own.
And so it has
always been. Never in the history of Christianity has there been a time when
Satan left the believer free to
- Worship
- Witness and
- Win souls to Christ
The contest
began on the first day of the faith and has continued without truce ever since.
A Christian must never think he is on “R and R.” He must never leave his post.
He can never afford to put away his weapons.
Satan has been
telling lies about the resurrection of Christ since the very moment of that
resurrection. Therefore we are compelled to know and tell the truth without
hesitation and without letting up.
