Luke 18:1 KJV
And he spake a
parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
Luke 18:8 KJV
I tell you that he will avenge them speedily.
Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
The Bible says
Jesus taught this parable to teach that men ought always to pray and not to
faint. But the context has much to do with His return. When Jesus comes back, faith
will be at an all time low:
- Few will believe He
will avenge them of their adversaries
- Few will be found in
prayer and
- Few will be of a mind
to look for His coming
Paul said there
is a crown of righteousness awaiting all that love His appearing. It may be
this crown is much rarer than some really believe.
Our Lord has
taught us to pray. He has urged us not to faint as we pray. May we be found
faithful when he comes.
