John 12:24 (KJV) Beyond Death's Grasp

John 12:24 (KJV)

Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit.

The death, the burial, and the resurrection of Jesus Christ is at once the dividing line between faith and unbelief, the separator between Christ and religion, and the stumbling block between the believer and the agnostic.

·       Christ died

·       Christ was buried

·       Christ arose

·       The atheist says that’s foolish

·       The agnostic says, “prove it.”

·       The religionist says, then He can’t be God

·       The doubter diverts to the Easter “holiday”[1]

But the believer, the man of true faith, places the hope of his soul in that singular, incontrovertible event.

·       If Christ had only been a man, his death would have accomplished nothing.

·       If God had not taken upon Himself the form of a man, He could not have died.

But Jesus Christ is both God and man. He died sinlessly, vicariously, and then He arose victoriously over our sin and our death.[2]

[2] 1 Corinthians 15:55-57 (KJV)

O death, where isthy sting? O grave, where isthy victory?

The sting of death issin; and the strength of sin isthe law.

But thanks beto God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
