John 11:2 (KJV)

(It was that Mary which anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.)[1]

 

That Mary

 

Mary was not only quick to sit at the feet of Jesus but also soon to offer Him worship.

 

Let it be a lesson that, though menial service is necessary, and we are thankful for those who engage in it, nothing is as important as sitting at the feet of Christ, unless it is engaging in service to Christ.

 

Martha must have learned some lessons in this regard because she was the first to come to Jesus after the passing of her brother.

 

It was that Mary who had anointed Jesus’ feet.

·       The “waste” as Judas called it was

·       Soon rewarded in a most significant way

There is no waste whatever we pour out upon the Lord. Some will not understand. Some would have had other priorities. Some would have stolen it for selfish, sinful, useless reasons.

But that which is given to the Lord, no matter how costly and no matter what it costs us, is never wasted, and always reward.

 

Proverbs 19:17 (KJV)

He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.
