Guest Devotion

Saturday was a crazy day around our place. Accordingly, I used as my devotional thought for the day a portion of a message Brother Lance Hohenstreet gave at our men's prayer breakfast that morning.

Matthew 9:35-38 KJV
And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.
Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;
Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

This devotion came from a very full day as a part of our missions conference. It is borrowed from the message Lance Hohenstreet preached this morning.

We need three things Jesus possessed in this text:

We need His SIGHT
"all the cities and villages..."No one was left out

We need His STIRRING
"He was moved...."

We need to be moved and stirred to action for the cause of others.

We need His SUPPLICATION
"pray ye therefore..."

Thank God for Jesus' prayer. May His prayer become our prayer.
