Habakkuk 3:3 KJV
God came from Teman, and the Holy One from mount Paran. Selah. His glory covered the heavens, and the earth was full of his praise.
Gill claims that the passage refers to the Lord's appearance to Moses at Sinai and says, "The prophet, to encourage his own faith, and the faith of others, takes notice, in this and the following verses, of the instances of the grace, goodness, and power of God to his people Israel, in appearing to them at Mount Sinai..."[1]
There is always a great reason to, "take notice, of the instances of the grace, goodness, and power of God to his people." In times of victory and rejoicing, to give praise to the LORD in such a fashion keeps us humble and reminds us where those victories spring forth. In other times, when we are in the valleys of life, giving this type of praise and rehearsing in our hearts those instances of God's goodness, grace and power keep our hope in the LORD alive.
Each and every time we find passages that give us a biblical pattern for worshiping God through praise, we would do well to stop and meditate upon those passages.
