Ephesians 5:11-14
And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them.
For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.
But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.
Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
My key thought is in verse 13 and the words, "...for whatsoever doth make manifest is light."
God has called us as believers to make manifest. Our task in this world is to expose the darkness and bring it into the light of the Lord Jesus Christ. Whenever we do that Ephesians says we are light.
I sometimes wonder about the Christian who can feel more comfortable around a lost man than a believer; especially if that lost man feels perfectly comfortable around him. If we are not light, then we are likely not saved. It is true that our light may be hid, but light has a way of getting out and when it does it always reproves the darkness.
