2 Corinthians 12:9 KJV
And he said
unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in
weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the
power of Christ may rest upon me.
It is striking that the
account of being caught up to heaven and the account of God's denial of Paul's
prayer should be found in the same context. And it is no coincidence. The fact
is that great blessings generally come at a very high price. God's use of us
and our presence with him can never come without some means if humility, for no
glory is to attend to the man but all glory is to be deflected to the Lord.
When men boast of their own
accomplishments and neglect to share that there was a price paid in abasement
then we may be assured that this was the work of man, wood hay and stubble and
that God was not in it.
Preacher,
ReplyDeleteJust the verse alone was a breath of cool air. I am so amazed that knows precisely what is needed for each one of us.
I am so thankful for the rest that is in Hebrews 4.
Rest from our works, placing complete trust in the work of Christ and also receiving from the Lord vitality and
strength through each trial as we rest in Him.
Thank you... Miss Connie
What a great blessing is the Word of God.
