1 Samuel 15:2 (KJV)
Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt.
Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt.
God remembered what the Amalekites said to Israel four hurdle years previous. Sometimes we forget that God doesn’t forget. We are aware of the Word of God and what it teaches but we think, since so many people have disobeyed the Bible for so long and have never suffered a consequence then maybe the teachings of the Bible are flawed.
I just want to remind you that four hundred years is nearly twice as long as our nation’s existence. If we were to pay the consequences of Bible disobedience today, we would be paying for the sins of the first Pilgrims and settlers on this continent! Perhaps we are!
The fact that people seem to get away with sin does not mean they have gotten Away with sin.
There is another bunch in this chapter whom God remembers. At nearly the same period in history the amenities had showed kindness to Israel and they are offered and escape from judgment. Even so we, sinful as we are, are offered a way of escape through Jesus Christ.
God remembers our sin; unless He chooses (because of Christ) to forget our sin.
