Romans 13:12 (KJV) What To Do

Romans 13:12 (KJV)
The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.
The night isn’t all spent, it is far spent. The day is not here, it is at hand. “Now is our salvation nearer, than when we believed.”
No man knows exactly how much of this night is spent. We know that it is more spent than saved and that the day is nearer at hand than when we began. We also know what the biblical response is,
To cast off the works of darkness
Those things that are contrary to holiness righteousness and to the Lord. Those things that are evil, vile and wicked. Those things that are rebellious and opposed to the faith. Those things, however so slight men have made them, that are of the flesh and not of the Spirit.
To put on the armor of light
We have a list of that armor In Ephesians 6:
  • Truth
  • Righteousness
  • The gospel of peace
  • Faith
  • Salvation
  • The Word of God and
  • Prayer
To practice these, to put them on day by day, to cast off like so much trash, the other. These are the things an alert Christian will seek to do.
