Proverbs 1:32 (KJV) The Prosperity of Fools

Proverbs 1:32 (KJV)
For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.

We have seen numerous examples of worldly prosperity, for they could possess no other, in the hands of foolish men. It may be they inherited it. I am not sure we can issue enough of a warning to parents passing on wealth to children of low character 

I can think right now of a number of people who grew their own wealth, Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg come to mind. These men happened upon concepts that grabbed hold in society. The personal computer, and social media. But the wealth they have come to possess has led them in a direction away from God. I understand that it appears they are successful and enjoying it. Their use of their resources, viewed through the lens of God’s Word, tells me they are in a course of destruction. 

More concerning to me, and that which I believe is addressed in this passage, is the destruction of those who, though not having that prosperity, follow the path or the counsel of those that have it. The influence of the Gates’s and Zuckerberg’s in the world seems bent toward the destruction of decent society.  

Our hope is to call people to hearken to the wisdom of God.
