Jeremiah 18:12 (KJV) Hope

Jeremiah 18:12 (KJV)

And they said, There is no hope: but we will walk after our own devices, and we will every one do the imagination of his evil heart.

God, through the prophet, had just told them,

  • If a nation God had thought to do evil repented then God would repent and bless them, but
  • If a nation does evil, then God would remove the good He intended to do for them

The Lord urged them to return from their evil way and to make their doings good.

In response they said, “There is no hope.” and continued in their evil.

Hope
It is the one thing that keeps a person, a family, a church, a nation on a good path.

Hope
It must be cultivated, grown, ever at the forefront of our hearts.

Hope

  • The preacher must preach for it
  • The believers must pray for it
  • The individual must protect it
  • The leader must offer it

If we find ourselves giving up on the right, what we need to do is immediately go to the Lord for hope.
