And that the Gentiles might glorify God for his mercy; as it is written, For this cause I will confess to thee among the Gentiles, and sing unto thy name.
And again he saith, Rejoice, ye Gentiles, with his people.
And again, Praise the Lord, all ye Gentiles; and laud him, all ye people.
And again, Esaias saith, There shall be a root of Jesse, and he that shall rise to reign over the Gentiles; in him shall the Gentiles trust.
Again, and again, and again.
The Apostle to the Gentiles had, I suppose, an abundance of motivation to demonstrate that God’s mercy extended to the Gentiles as well as the Jews. What I wish to point out is that he had more than enough Biblical ammunition to make his point. The Bible, from cover to cover, teaches the love of God for all races, kindreds, tongues, and tribes. The gospel message goes to all people and has done so since the beginning of time.
In what I believe could be described as a topical message, again and again and again, Apostle Paul referenced his audience to the Word of God, from one passage to another, weaving Scripture with Scripture.
His point?
John 3:16 (KJV)
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
