Failing to See God, We Fail to See

Genesis 46:3 KJV
And he said, I am God, the God of thy father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation:

They say hind sight is 20-20. Looking at the story of Israel's sojourn to Egypt my hind sight is impressed to say this is a bad idea. Don't do it. Don't trade slavery just to avoid the two years of famine. But
  • That is only hind sight.
  • That is totally on the human level.
  • That neglects entirely what spiritual eyes see;
that this whole thing is the orchestration of God.

  • Joseph's captivity there
  • Jacob's move there
  • Egypt's forgetting of Joseph and
  • Israel's enslavement there
All were a part of God's orchestration of His people.

So very often we look both forward and backward with only the eyes of human understanding. We misinterpret our past because we only examine it from the human level.
  • We see mistakes to avoid
  • We learn lessons of leadership but
  • We fail to see where God has been in it all

And failing to see God we fail to see.
