Leviticus 4:23 (KJV) Sinning In Ignorance

Leviticus 4:23 (KJV)
Or if his sin, wherein he hath sinned, come to his knowledge; he shall bring his offering, a kid of the goats, a male without blemish:
There is such a thing as sinning in ignorance.
  • Sometimes we do not know a thing is not scriptural
  • Sometimes we act without realizing the consequences of those actions
  • Sometimes we hurt someone without knowing they could be hurt
That we did not know we had sinned does not excuse the sin. Sin is sin. Right is right. Wrong is wrong.
When we become aware that we have sinned:
  • It is revealed through our devotion or
  • We are confronted with it by another or
  • The preaching brings us under conviction
When we become aware, as soon as we become aware, that is the time to make it right.

Marvin, you are right on. Sometimes we like that sin that we are aware of, so we hang on to it for awhile because we think it is only our sin and nobody knows but you. The problem being is, it sometimes explodes into something we can't get rid of apart from allowing God to handle it. It does effect those around you. thank you again for sharing these thoughts.
