Hosea 7:2 KJV
And they consider not in their hearts that I remember all their wickedness: now their own doings have beset them about; they are before my face.
Much of the reason we sin and much of the reason we Christians do not grow in the faith as we ought has to do with not considering or thinking about the right things.
We give in to our sins easily when we do not consider in our hearts that God remembers our wickedness. It is before His face. Our sin is a brazen disregard for the omniscience of Almighty God.
Not that the only thing we ought to consider is our sin and the fact that it is always before the Lord.
Philippians 4:8 (KJV)
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
So there are certainly plenty of positive things to consider as well.
Proverbs 23:7 (KJV)
For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: ... The importance of
Considering,
Thinking,
MeditatingOn the right things cannot be overestimated in the Word of God.
