Proverbs 6:23
For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:

The commandment is a lamp
The law is light
A lamp is a light-bearer. One could say that the law is the light and the commandments get their light from it. The commandments in God's Word are enlightened through the whole of the Word of God. We do not take one commandment and set it as its own truth but we hold all of the Word of God as a whole and together, the commandments give direction in our steps.
Reproofs of instruction are the way of life
Not just is it a way of life that we face reproofs and instruction, but the instruction we gain through reproof is the way to have a life that is victorious and blessed of the Lord. No reproof is pleasant, I don't suppose, at the moment it is received. But when we accept the instruction that comes from them our lives are much improved and we can be brought into an image more like our Saviour's.
