I Sat Where They Sat

Ezekiel 3:15 KJV
Then I came to them of the captivity at Telabib, that dwelt by the river of Chebar, and I sat where they sat, and remained there astonished among them seven days.

"I sat where they sat"

This is both the duty and the privilege of the pastor. No other ministry has this wonderful honor to sit where God's people sit and daily serve God among them.

It is a bitter job
From time to time the soul of the pastor is so broken over the condition of the people of God that it is a bitterness to him.
He longs to see them right with God
He longs for them to walk with God
He is broken when they rebel against God

It is a heated job
There are those times the pastor must fight for the right. His spirit may become heated over the evil that he observes

It is an anointed jobIn sometimes more subtle ways than that say, of an evangelist, who blows in blows up and then blows out. The pastor sits among the people. He sees their lives and they see his. His impact is seldom the dramatic sort but it comes from "line upon line" ministry.

Thank God for the blessing of sitting where they sit.
