Deuteronomy 32:31 KJV
For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges.
Moses' song concerning the Rock is filled with picturesque wonder concerning the person of Christ. A Christian would do well to spend much time pondering each verse in this passage which deals with the Rock, applying the verse to the Christian relationship with Jesus.
Today my thoughts were on this phrase, "even our enemies themselves being judges." The people of this world are, without question, judges. They judge Christians and professing Christians all of the time.
They judge the credibility of our message in contrast to our lifestyle
They judge the impact that Christians have in our world today versus the impact that those who are not Christians have
They judge the history of Christendom in both its positive and negative aspects
My challenge, I believe, is that I am not sure that most professing Christians see our Rock and different than their rock. It evidences itself in the fact that we are so quick to do things in the very same ways that a worldly person would do them.
We would buy our possessions the same ways
We would manage our moneys the same ways
We would plan our retirements the same ways
And by doing so, we demonstrate to the enemies of Christ that we don't even believe our Rock is not as their rock. They are just different rocks.
Before the enemies of Christ will ever glorify our Rock we, who proclaim ourselves as His children, must bring glory to Him.
For their rock is not as our Rock, even our enemies themselves being judges.
