Debtor to the Whole

Galatians 5:3 KJV
For I testify again to every man that is circumcised, that he is a debtor to do the whole law.

It appears that the people of Paul's day were the same as people in mine, that they believe they can pick and choose portions of a particular faith without embracing all of it. Paul corrected this thinking by telling them that to accept Jewish circumcision as a means of righteousness immediately obliged a person to the whole of the Law, for as Gill says, "The law is only his righteousness when he observes to do all that is required in it."

So people today have the idea that they can pick
·         A little of the world's philosophy,
·         A little from this religion and that, and
·         Then pick salvation by Jesus Christ
and be fine

Not so.

The Word of God makes it clear that faith in Christ is all or nothing. A man cannot serve two masters. Salvation is either of faith or it is of works, but it can never be of both.

And so the question to the people is "Are you all in?" Jesus calls us to complete faith. Jesus calls us to "be debtor to the whole" truth. Be sold out for Jesus Christ. Be His alone.
