Don't Fear What They Fear

Isaiah 8:12 KJV
Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid.

Judah was in a bad way. The northern kingdom was on the verge of disaster because of Assyria. The same armies that threatened Israel would soon be a threat to Judah and Judah's king was a wicked man. These were dark days. As Judah looked for help anywhere but from the Lord, God purposed to used Isaiah and his family as a sign to Judah as to what they ought to do. God told them not to join hands with the people as a whole, not to fear what they feared. God said they were to fear Him only and in that fear they would find a sanctuary.

We live in such dark days.
  • Governments are given over to evil and compromise
  • Citizens are committed to sins against one another and possess no fear of God
  • Even the churches are chiefly concerned with their own well being and not the glory of God
Doctrine, ethics and honor have been rated second to growth, prestige and comfort. It is indeed a trying time.

God has a word for those who will listen in such a time as this; don't join hands with the world. Don't fear the same things they fear. Fear God. If you must separate from all others, fear God and let He alone be your sanctuary. Let your family be a sign to the world. Be different. Be about just one thing; living for God.
