1 Samuel 25:10 KJV
And Nabal answered David's servants, and said, Who is David? and who is the son of Jesse? there be many servants now a days that break away every man from his master.
Nabal exhibits a cynical spirit about those days in which he lived. He said there were many "now a days" that break away from their masters. Nothing was different in his day than was before his time or after. Since the fall of Adam:
In short, there have been, since the fall of Adam sinful men.
The days of Nabal were not unique to his time. He simply used what he had observed as an excuse to not extend charity to David.
And so it is in our own time. We might look about us and think it has never been spiritually worse than it is "now a days." We might use that as our excuse for panic or for overreaction or for distrust in God's Word or for a reason to try to help the Bible out with a little action on our own part. The fact is these days have not taken God by surprise. He is on top of history and current events at the same time. He is fully aware of the times. He is capable of accomplishing His will, yea these times are in tune with His will.
It is for us to trust Him. The times in which we live are given to is of God to be servants of His. These are neither better not worse days than those days before. They are just our days. May God be glorified in our day.
