Don't Remove the Bound

Hosea 5:10
The princes of Judah were like them that remove the bound: therefore I will pour out my wrath upon them like water.

Gill's commentary records, "Or landmark, which to do was contrary to the law,  and has always been reckoned a heinous sin among all nations, and is only done by such who have no regard to right and wrong, and by them secretly; and such were the kings, princes, and nobles of Judah; they secretly committed the grossest iniquities, yea, were abandoned to their vile lusts, and could not be contained within any bounds."

We live in such a day that the removing of landmarks and boundaries is the:
·       Common and
·       Expected, even
·       Applauded
thing among churches. Modern pastors boast of extending the reach of their congregations by changing the course of their ministries. Churches have been taken over and changed by aggressive preachers, essentially obtaining buildings and properties by claiming to be one thing but proving to be quite another. Others have entered into a Church and gradually changed their own course, thus changing the course of the church.

So common is this "heinous sin" that it is difficult to find a church with any history that has not had their landmarks removed. These bravadoes in the guise of preachers appear to have succeeded in their work but they have forgotten that the One to whom they will give account is not
·       Their friends of the religious movements or
·       The bankers to whom they pay their bills or even
·       Their congregations that may be impressed with the visible results

they will give account to God; who never changes.
