Micah 2:1
Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand.
Because a person can doesn't mean a person should.
There are those crimes that are labeled “crimes of opportunity”.
· Someone leaves the keys in their car so a thief exploits the opportunity.
· Someone leaves their house unlocked and a burglar takes advantage of the opportunity
· Someone isn't paying attention of their purse and a purse snatcher seizes the opportunity
God places a woe or a curse upon those who practice evil things simply because they have the power to do so.
Eve was free to take the fruit God had forbidden. There was
· Nothing restraining her
· Nothing to prevent her
· Nothing except the Word of God
We ought to obey the word of God because it is right and not because we are forced to do so. If a person chooses to do the wrong thing there will almost certainly be nothing that can stop them.
They ought to stop anyway because it is wrong.
They ought also consider that, while it might appear they get away with it, God is aware and keeping record.
