Good Times

Zechariah 10:9 KJV
And I will sow them among the people: and they shall remember me in far countries; and they shall live with their children, and turn again.

Though Israel had been chastened and was smarting because of it, this chapter promises good times in their future. God says that He will sow them among the earth, spread them around the world as a witness to himself. This is not the Dispersion because those of the Dispersion are not converted people and are of little spiritual worth. Besides His promise to them is that they would be gathered back, not spread further. This is, I believe, referencing the 144,000 of the Tribulation. They are said to be virgins but could that refer to their spiritual standing rather than their physical one?

This also serves as a type in the Christian world as God sends believer's:
·       Scattered hither and yon
·       Dwelling in this town and that
·       Working at this job or the other

·       Raising families
·       Living joyfully and
·       Being a witness
in that place they find themselves.

Seeds, once sown, don't move. They stay where they are planted. But their fruit scatters farther and farther providing for new gardens and fresh crops in other places.

A wise Christian takes root where he is sown.
·       At home
·       In his work
·       In his town
·       At his church

It is there he can make the most and best difference.
