2 Corinthians 3:13-16 KJV
And not as Moses, which put a vail over his face, that the children of Israel could not stedfastly look to the end of that which is abolished:
But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.
But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart.
Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away.
There is a shroud that covers the eyes of the general population concerning the Word of God.
· Though they are able to read its words and dissect its sentences.
· Though they may critique its construction and offer higher criticism concerning its authorship
they have, as it were, a vail upon their heart. It prevents them from seeing the message that is behind the words.
Truth is, the vail can never be removed through
· education,
· sentence dissection or
· advanced forms of higher criticism.
The vail is only removed from the heart when that heart turns to the Lord.
No one understands the Word of God until they personally know and love the God of the Word.
