Galatians 4:3 KJV
Even so we,
when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:
Galatians 4:6 KJV
And because
ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts,
crying, Abba, Father.
Galatians 4:11 KJV
I am afraid
of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain.
Galatians 4:17 KJV
They
zealously affect you, but not well; yea, they would exclude you, that ye might
affect them.
Galatians 4:28 KJV
Now we,
brethren, as Isaac was, are the children of promise.
I found Paul's use of
pronouns in this chapter interesting.
· We
· You
· Me
· They
· We
It reminded me of the many
spiritual relationships each of us have:
We have a common relationship with believers.
There are things we share and
we ought to develop and rejoice in them.
We have a separate relationship with believers.
Though there are things we
have in common we are not all on the same level spiritually. Sometimes we will
teach others; sometimes we will be taught.
We have an individual relationship with believers.
Though I am a member of a
local congregation as participate symbolically with all that my church does, I
also have a personal responsibility to grow and serve and worship the Lord.
We have some sort of relationship with those with whom we
disagree.
There are those who trouble
us spiritually. They try to stray us from our path.
Paul ends the chapter once again with the corporate relationship.
We can never make too much of
how important is our bonds of faith in the local church.
