Luke 1:1 (KJV) He Wrote History

Luke 1:1 (KJV)
Forasmuch as many have taken in hand to set forth in order a declaration of those things which are most surely believed among us,
I saw today that when Luke took in hand to declare those things believed by Christians he did not write
  • a statement of faith
  • a creed or
  • a confession
he wrote a history.
We have two books of the New Testament written by Luke:
  • Each is inspired of God
  • Each is written to Theophilus
  • Each is historical in content
I am not opposed to confessions and statements of faith; the epistles of the Bible can be viewed as doctrinal rather than historical in content. What I am pointing out is that a great way to share doctrine is by telling the life story of Christ and His churches.
It may not be the place to finish but it is for sure a great place to start.
