Esther 6:2-3 (KJV) Perfect Timing

Esther 6:2-3 (KJV)
And it was found written, that Mordecai had told of Bigthana and Teresh, two of the king’s chamberlains, the keepers of the door, who sought to lay hand on the king Ahasuerus. And the king said, What honour and dignity hath been done to Mordecai for this? Then said the king’s servants that ministered unto him, There is nothing done for him.
Mordecai did what was right without thought for compensation or reward. The circumstances with Esther had led him to be in the right place to hear of the conspiracy against the king.
They also put him in a prominent place to be spotted by hateful Haman. Haman’s plot against the Jews had been hatched and the date for its execution set. But neither Haman nor the devil knew what God was preparing for a rescue. Mordecai had exposed the conspiracy against the king because it was the right thing to do. No reward was offered and none was expected. But now, just when the Jews need some “inside help”, God reminded the King of Mordecai’s deed. Mordecai’s reward did not come immediately. He did not expect to receive a reward at all. But when the reward came it was:
  • Perfect timing
  • Perfectly executed and
  • Perfectly suited to the crisis the Jews faced
It would be best if we serve God because He is worthy. It would be best if we were content and sought no reward. But the Bible does promise us rewards that will be perfectly timed, perfectly fulfilled and perfectly suited according to our service for the Saviour.
