John 20:18 (KJV)
Mary Magdalene came and told the disciples that she had seen the Lord, and that he had spoken these things unto her.

1 John 1:3
That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you, that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.

The Christian faith is not transferred through academic pursuits but by Word of mouth and personal testimony. Even the Word of God, which we are assured is given by inspiration of God, is testimonial in nature.

We are, of course, encouraged to study but our study is to be that of the Word of God which is, once again, testimonial in nature. We grow in our knowledge of our Lord and Saviour not in the classroom, but in the laboratory of personal fellowship with Him. We grow, as Mary Magdalene did, through:

• Early meetings with the Lord 
• Frequent conversations with others about those meetings 
• Repeated meetings with our Saviour to find answers to our questions and then
• Once again sharing with others what we have learned
