Revelation 1:1 (KJV)
The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:

A common error regarding the Bible is that it was written by a group of religious or holy men. Another common error is that the Bible underwent the same degradations of copies that plague every other ancient writing. This passage answers both mistakes.

Notice that, in a nutshell, the Revelation is from God to His servants. But the message passes through several channels:

It was given by God to Jesus ChristJesus told His disciples that the day and hour of Christ’s coming belonged to God alone. Here He gives a piece of that Puzzle to Jesus.

Jesus sent the message by His angelAngels are celestial messengers. They are not divine but they do serve the divine.

His angel signified it to JohnThe translation of the message from heavenly to earthly happens here.

John recorded it in this book for the servants of God to readJohn did not write it, God did. Though the message passed through all these hands, it remained intact and blessed.

God’s Word is His Word, preserved through the passing of the generations. If you believe God, believe His Word to be infallible and without error.
