Hebrews 13:5 (KJV) The Key to Contentment

Hebrews 13:5 (KJV)
Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

The Bible tells us that godliness with contentment is great gain. Repeatedly we learn that covetousness is sin and contentment is character. Here we learn the key to being content with such things as we have; no matter how little or much we have[1] is that, if we are saved we have the presence of God.

  • Having the assurance that God is near
  • Having the confidence that God will help us
  • Having the certainty that God will protect and defend us
  • Having the comfort that God will provide for us
We have no need to want because we have all that we will ever need.

[1]Frequently the least content of all are those who have much.
