Psalms 132:7 (KJV) The Heart for Worship

Psalms 132:1-5 (KJV)
A Song of degrees.
LORD, remember David, and all his afflictions:
How he sware unto the LORD, and vowed unto the mighty God of Jacob;
Surely I will not come into the tabernacle of my house, nor go up into my bed;
I will not give sleep to mine eyes, or slumber to mine eyelids,
Until I find out a place for the LORD, an habitation for the mighty God of Jacob.

For some time, Israel had been without a place of worship. The leadership of the nation had let slip the most important feature of the people of God. When David ascended to the throne, it became his passion to restore this worship. 

• 
  He erred at first
• He faced huge opposition 
• He was held back from finishing the work

God gave it to His son, Solomon, to be the one who built the temple. 

Still the passion was there. And it spread. 

Psalms 132:6 (KJV)
Lo, we heard of it at Ephratah: we found it in the fields of the wood.

The heart for worship, unnoticed for decades, was revived until the people of the land sang out,

Psalms 132:7 (KJV)
We will go into his tabernacles: we will worship at his footstool. 

Lord, make it so once again!
